I LOVE Shannon! OK so I originally contacted him about the Biosignature stuff, but just ended up hiring him as a personal trainer. I trained with him for 18 months and not only did he help me lose weight, but gain substantial strength (comparative to where I started) and tone my body to be better than it ever was, even as a teenager. He also taught me how to eat for weight loss and sustained results. The only reason I stopped training with him was because I became unwell and was unable to exercise. As soon as I’m strong enough to exercise again I’ll be straight back working with him again.
As a personal trainer he really cares (even if he looks too tough to care) and even more importantly he doesn’t become complacent with you as a client.
I highly recommend him, as you can undoubtedly tell, and even though we share a last name we are not related! I encourage you to give him a call.
I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes with glucose readings of 15mmol/L, or 3 times what it should be. I had to make a life change. Diet and exercise were supposed to help, so I took my ass to the gym, where I found Shannon.
Up until this point I had never set foot in a gym and it was hard at first. Shannon must have really wondered what he had taken on. I discovered a whole new world of gym, weights, diet, acupuncture, chiropractor and massage. These days, following Shannon’s advice, my blood sugar is normal: from 15 down to 4.6 with no prescription drugs.
He has solved my knee and shoulder problems: I went from not being able to climb the ladder at work, to squatting over 140kg for 1 rep. My body fat has gone from 32% down to 13% and have increased my muscle mass considerably, even at the tender young age of 52. After being shown how to achieve my new lifestyle, I have no wish to return to my old habits.
The first year I worked with Shannon, we mainly just worked with diet. He got me extremely lean for my comp, but without the usual brain fog, slurred words and double vision that come with cutting for a body building comp.
He changed the way I looked at my diet and re-wrote my programs for the year. My physique has completely changed, my symmetry is balanced now, my joints don’t hurt, I am fuller all over, my energy is better and I’m leaner again.
In October 2008 I weighed 102kg, felt unwell, was having restless sleep, snoring was a problem, mobility in my martial arts training was impacted severely & my self-esteem suffered.
Shannon’s user friendly approach to eating & lifestyle change was the key to my success, and by January 2009 I weighed 88kg, I was leaner, faster & in the best condition of my life. All of the above issues were in the past. Shannon taught me that I could eat healthy & still enjoy my food.
Garry came to us in early February 2010, @ 117kg, 36% body fat. The doctor had been telling him for years he needed to lose weight, but it finally hit home in early January when the doctor put him on medication because his blood pressure was too high, and told him that if his blood sugar kept going the same way, he’d need tablets for that as well.
So he started on the blood pressure tablets, but he was having terrible nightmares and not sleeping. His wife was beside herself with the fear that he may never see his grandchildren grow up, so Gary made the decision to see a personal trainer and came in to the Warrior Performance Centre.
We started him on a program 2 days of weight training and 2 days of conditioning and gradually altered his diet by teaching him better eating habits. Over 12 weeks, Gary lost 22kg of body fat, which brought his body fat percentage down to 18%, and he gained 7.5kgs of lean muscle.
I had just come back to training after shoulder surgery, was looking thin, had poor range of motion in my shoulder and was pretty weak.
But in under 6 weeks Shannon had rehabbed my shoulder and I had about 80% of my range of motion back. I packed on 3-4kgs of muscle and my dead-lift doubled. Now I’m ready to jump back in the ring.
